Danseur et chorégraphe, Alex Baczynski-Jenkins a fait partie de la première promotion d'étudiants du Bachelor of Arts « danse, contexte, chorégraphie » du HZT Berlin où Boris Charmatz a enseigné. En juin 2009, il réalise une performance de 4 jours à Mexicali (Mexico), Having not seen OR Mr. Gorbachev. En 2012, il crée The white tiger burns brightest in the west en collaboration avec Carlos M. Oliveira et initie un travail de collaboration avec An Kaler. La même année, il obtient une bourse du NRW Kultur Sekretariat, pour la recherche en danse. A la suite de cela, il présente son solo Translating the agony in the garden. Plus récemment, il initie et co-organise quatre jours de performance indépendante à Berlin, For the time being, en mars 2011. Comme performer, il a travaillé avec Rosalind Crisp, Marlène Monteiro Freitas, Isabelle Schad et, depuis 2009, avec Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods. En novembre 2011, il participe au projet du Musée de la danse expo zéro, présenté à Performa 2011, New York.
